1936 Ford Coupe
With a desire to use this car as more of a daily driver, the owner of this beautiful 1936 Ford coupe came to us for some improvements in safety, reliability and driveability.
If you can't start your car, you certainly can't drive it! With this in mind, we pulled off the old starter and evaluated it on the bench. After determining that it needed a complete rebuild the owner opted for a modern gear-reduction starter. Not only do these modern starters spin the engine faster, but they draw significantly less amperage while doing it. They also weigh less - the AC Delco starter (off of the vintage 1960 Corvette engine) weighs in at 20 pounds while the brand new starter is just over 8 pounds.
