1936 Ford Coupe
We're switching this coupe to 5 x 4.5" hubs, and with our narrower rear axle this will allow us to fit more modern hot rod wheels and tires. In mocking up the rear end we were able to measure fender clearances to help better judge what size tires we can squeeze under the fenders. While the rear end was still on the car we mounted a couple of different size/style wheels and tires to see how they'd look. First up were some 16x7" Halibrand salt-flat style wheels with 31" tires. We followed this up with some 16x8" steelies with 30" bias-ply tires. The owner is opting for a modern radial tire, but we were really interested in seeing how the different tire sizes filled out the wheel wells.
