With the first layer of insulation in place we used the carpet pieces as a guide in order to rough-fit the back section of our 2nd layer of insulation - Juliano's Insultek. This material is 1/4" closed-cell foam with aluminum foil bonded to both sides. The rear section was glued in place using spray adhesive and trimmed to fit. We glued the front section to the carpet pieces rather than the floor itself to facilitate easy access to the master cylinder, transmission tunnel and other components.
