We’ve had this 1977 Triumph TR7 Race Car in the shop before, and it’s been run locally in the VSCDA circuit for a few years now after the grandson of it’s original driver decided to pull it out and start racing again.
This year’s project is all about safety. We’re going to update the roll cage with some additional bracing in front and rear, better secure the seat while attempting to lower it for additional headroom, better secure the driver’s safety harness, building a new dashboard and control panel with new AutoMeter gauges, and build a completely new wiring harness.
We’ve removed the remains of the original dash (which had been cut in half years ago and the right side removed already), the unused heater box, and have begun to strip the remains of the factory wiring harness.
