When the MGA came back from the body shop, the doors and fenders were hung on loosely, with large gaps for safety. Our job was to install the fender welt and adjust the gaps.
We first aligned and latched the doors, then started aligning the fenders to the doors.
We also installed the welt between the fenders and the body, which is a fussy job as the welt moves a bit when the fender bolts are tightened.
We set the gaps to 1/8″ all around the doors.
The welt will need a little more adjustment, which we’ll do in a few weeks after it’s taken a little more of a “set.” Even so, it looks great!
(And we have noticed how the Iris Blue color seems to change depending on the lighting in the shop…)
