MGA MKII’s have a vinyl dash and vinyl between the dash and windscreen to reduce glare. We matched the original vinyl and recovered both areas.
We saved the original vinyl to use as a pattern.
We trimmed it to fit once it was glued down.
Once the dash was covered, we installed the switches and gauges as well as the mirror, defrosters, and tonneau snaps. We still need to add the radio blanking plate and a few other sundries, but it’s close.
1600 MKIIs also have distinct taillights, which are common to Minis of the era.
The MGA in the background is our “reference car.” It has just over 20,000 miles, and has original paint and interior. It’s never been apart, so it’s useful to get every clip and fastener correct.
