The door skins on this MGA coupe were in terrible shape. New skins are available, but the quality is far from perfect. Instead of attempting to repair the damaged skins we decided to make our own. We took a paper template from the original door skins and cut out blanks in new aluminum. We then created a series of fixtures and hammerforms to help us in developing the correct shape for our new skins. After several tests we acheived the results we were after and installed our new door skin.
