1978 Mini

This 1978 Mini came to the states about 12 years ago and is need of a lot of catch-up on some delayed maintenance. A leaky fuel pump and flooding carb have contributed to poor running, the cooling system is filled with old, smelly, dirty coolant, the hydraulic systems are all leaking and non-functional, and about half of the electrical system is not working.

Our first step after going through everything is to disassemble the engine bay for clean-up. This will also make our swap to Cooper disc front brakes a simpler operation. A lot of the engine bay is in good mechanical shape, just needing some cosmetics, but we will be replacing the radiator and all the cooling hoses, rebuilding the carb, painting the engine, and cleaning up the paint in the engine bay as part of the process.
