1968 Porsche 911
We determined that the lower engine on this car had been reworked fairly close to the time it was put away, but the upper engine was never done. The crank, rods, pistons, and cylinders were all in great shape but the heads needed new exhaust valves and guides. We re-ringed the pistons and had the cam carriers cleaned/degreased while the heads were being rebuilt. Once everything came back we started reassembly and restoration of some of the exterior components.
This car was originally fitted with an air pump which the owner wanted to remove. In doing so, we needed to machined the left camshaft to remove the pump drive, then manufacture a plate to cover the opening where the air pump pulley mounted.
