As we dug further into this engine we discovered more causes and ultimately the result of all of the problems - a burned #3 piston and jug. With all of the mouse nests and closed thermostat cover inhibiting the cooling, this engine cooked itself to death. You can see remains of the aluminum piston in the oil as well.

The camshaft is in good shape and the heads are uncracked, but this engine will need all new bearings, pistons, jugs, oil pump, and a good cleaning to make it run again..
