In order to clear the exhaust manifold and other items we need to re-locate the steering on the GT a bit. We change the angle of the shaft by cutting the shaft and adding a second u-joint at the bottom near the steering rack. We chose a quality universal joint and will be machining the shaft to fit. The upper u-joint will remain the stock MGB unit.
We've also received a nice Sanden SD508 air conditioning compressor for our A/C system. Because the stock compressor on a Miata is mounted low on the engine (like the alternator) we will need to relocate it to avoid the frame rails. We've begun to mock up new brackets to move the compressor higher, near where the original Miata power steering pump was located.
