1966 Fiat 500

While at the machine shop we discovered that our Fiat 500 engine NEVER had oil pressure, at least since it came stateside about 15 years ago. There were actually 3 important pieces missing from the front end of the crankshaft including a very critical oil seal (it looks very similar to an engine piston ring). The car's intermittent oil light further added to the confusion and fortunately the limited driving this car had seen since its arrival helped save it. There was minimal wear on most parts and aside from new piston rings and seals, we didn't need much (except for the missing parts anyway!)

After reassembling everything we attached the clutch and transaxle, hung the engine in the car, and fired it up.

Currently we're taking the car for some daily test drives in order to make sure everything is sorted.
