1977 Fiat 124 Spider

The cause of our compression problems stemmed from a bad head gasket near the back, as evidenced by the pitting in and around the #4 cylinder where coolant had obviously been getting in and causing problems. The machine shop cleaned the head, valves and springs thoroughly, installed new valve stem seals and machined 10 thousanths off the head surfaces to make sure everything was nice and level.
